I was wondering if anyone knows of a board that will natively support my AMD Phenom II x6. When I have done a search it gives me a list but all of them are older articles and the boards I have looked at all need a bios update which is a problem because I can't do the update without running a supported processor.

budget is anywhere from 50-$100 preferrably in the $70 bracket though.

Thanks for the assist!

Not sure what you mean by 'natively'. I assume you mean that it's the correct generation for that processor and will recognise it and use it to its full potential.

I'm sure there's a heck of a lot more boards than those two. I've used both though.

Any AM3 or AM3+ board that supports 125watt processors(should be all of them, but there might be a few that don't).

By Natively I mean that I wont have to flash the bios when I buy it to get it to work. The last two boards I have tried that "supported" my proc would not even start up without needing a new bios update which I couldn't do because I can't get my pc running to acquire the update.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will look those up.

It has been 2 years since X6 has come out. All AM3 boards will be updated at this time if you buy New. I bought my 1055T a week after release and had no problem with the Board I picked up(in sig).

If you google those boards with 'cpu support' in the search, you'll notice that they both mention a BIOS update to get them to work properly with it. I don't know what they'll do with that processor on an older BIOS, hopefully they'll POST while ID'ing the processor incorrectly.

Anything out of the box with an 800 or 900 series chipset will be ready to roll.

There is a MSI 890gx I am running my 1055T on listed on slickdeals for ~$80.

My recommendation is this. Supports 1055T out of the box. Will support AMD Piledriver when it comes out. No crappy onboard graphics. SATA 6 + USB 3.0. Room for expansion/upgrades. Within your budget. Good looks is a bonus.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, That ASRock board looks great and it's right in my price range. I think I am gonna go with that.

Thanks Again!
