I saw about a dozen threads that mentioned Nation Red but always in the context of a sale or a recommendation list. I thought it would be helpful to have a dedicated thread.

It was a free play last weekend on Steam. I went ahead and bought it sight unseen because it also was on sale. It's a really fun game but I am not that great at it. I don't have much of a strategy other than running around shooting. I also am not sure what some things are or how they operate.

Does anyone have any cool tips or tricks?

I'll start: It seems like I am not the only one who didn't understand what weapon lock (Key: F) was. Since so many weapons appear in the game, you might accidentally replace a favorite weapon (ie shotgun) with something not as cool (handgun). So, while you have your favorite gun equipped, press F and it will prevent you from accidentally losing it. What I am not sure of is if you locked primary (shotgun) and walk over a machine gun, will it just replace secondary (unlocked, machete)? Or will nothing happen?

If you have a single weapon locked, then picking up another will replace your secondary.

I played this game during the free weekend. It's kinda fun and the perks make it somewhat interesting with different varied builds.

It got too repetitive in the time it was free for me to want to buy it, though. I think 6-8 hours is all the fun I was going to have in the game, anyway.

I bought it over the weekend too, pretty fun game. I played through a few of the mission levels, haven't had a chance to play the multiplayer yet. Definitely worth the $2.50 I paid for it.

Bought the game and played it for a few days so far. It's decently fun, but I don't know if I will play it too much. I know it's only been a few days, but I don't seem to be progressing much at getting better. I'm lasting about the same amount of time every time I play. My twitch reflexes just aren't quick enough for me to get any better imho. The only time I do better's when I get certain weapon drops.

Hah, I didn't know what the weapon locking did, thanks OP :D

Those who are complaining about the lack of storyline or depth, this game is perfect to launch, have fun with it for 10 minutes, close and continue what you were doing before

Every weapon drops if you can last more than 2 minutes o_O
