Nathan's Hot Dogs: are they only good in NY!?

had them @luxor and thought they were....OK. i thought costco's hotdogs were better quite honestly lol; are they only good in NY or something?!
 
I've had them @ home and in NYC, they are a little better in NYC, but the store-bought ones are damn tasty too!

I'm Jewish and I keep kosher so I've never had them, but several of my friends have told me that the Nathan's at Coney Island makes them a special way that makes them taste the best. The other Nathan's around the country do not do this special cooking method. That's what I've heard.
