"Richard Petty was so upset, he really didn't even want to talk about it."

i thought this would be cool from a fan standpoint.
surprised racing crews are hating it?

bu.. bu. buu. It isn't the same thing for 400 laps! We can't have that!

I'm sort of surprised it didn't happen sooner. After all, drafting would result in fewer pit stops and less car wear and tear.

Yeah... it's pretty lame to watch after awhile. It reminds me more of couple's figure skating than racing. :(

The track has just been resurfaced and is much smoother. This is the reason drafting is the fastest way around the track, noobs.

he needs to retire

For the most part he is, more of an owner now. He's done all three series this weekend just because it's Daytona. Actually won the truck race Friday night, so he's not completely useless. Although out of 400+ starts he's only won maybe 10 races.

I haven't seen/watched a nascar race on tv in years, but yesterday I was switching through the channels and saw one with around 7 or 8 laps left, and the cars looked odd, so I left it on. Then I saw them start this buddy-drafting... wtf??? I was wondering how long this had been going on, and if the new odd car look had something to do with it. Looked pretty silly to me for a race, but whatever, not my thing anyway. nascar was bad to begin with, and now it's becoming the WWE of racing.

so the finish of that race had no effect on you?

yay for professional left-turning.

so I assume this is to increase the chances of spectacular crashes? I mean, that's the only thing that keeps rednecks watching, right? it's not like they're actually racing.
