I know this film has been out for months but I went and saw this weekend w/my nephew and his wife. It was actually pretty good. Plenty of race scenes (both real races and the staged racing with the IMAX camera on car bumpers). Plus interesting behind-the-scenes look of building the cars and engines and how the track fills up for the races.

Would someone with absolutely no interest in Nascar whatsoever, i.e. me, have any reason to see this?

I went and saw it and thought it was amazing. 3D effects can make any IMAX action movie pretty cool though.

BTW, have you ever been to one of the Silicon Motor Speedway simulator facilities?
Talk about FUN!
Saw here in Louisville at the Science Museum. Thought about going to the SpaceStation film afterward but we walked around the museum for a bit and then went to dinner.

When I go to Ormond Beach this summer, I'll probably go to Daytona and see if they have their simulation running then.

Really? My wife wanted to go see that. We saw Harry Potter at the Imax theater in Dallas, and I wasn't really impressed. But then again, it wasn't an Imax-movie, either.
