Nascar Heat Multiplayer Prob

I just installed an Intel Anypoint phoneline network on my two home computers which share broadband internet. Everything seems to work fine except I can't establish a connection to play multiplayer Nascar Heat. When I choose LAN from the Nascar menu and create a game, when the other computer tries to find it the host eventually says "Lost Connection Unknown Service." Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.

If You are using an IP mask so you don't have to pay for the second Line that could be the problem

But shouldn't I be able to connect computer to computer just like a cable network without going through the internet?
