NASA says Spirit rover has failed to transmit data from Mars for 24 hours

That means that Spirit found what it was supposed to find. The rest is clasified.

It appears that they have heard from the rover. It sent back a transmission to earth that they picked up acknowledging that it heard Nasa's commands. Hopefully they will figure this out soon. I don't think all is lost here. From Space.com

I heard they were getting beeps that indicate a software(*cough* Microsoft ;) )or hardware error/failure.

Did the images suddenly turn blue?

Spirit isn't 100%, but it is communicating and sending back data, which is a good sign.

I found this on Reuters... Earlier Friday, the European Space Agency said its Mars mission had confirmed the presence of frozen water on the planet's surface.

First I heard of this.
