Don't see any real reason for this thread to have been locked, but apparently some mod didn't like it. Whatever.

Agreed, but I'd suggest that poster should be given a vacation for posting that in the thread. The thread itself seemed in the proper place...

When a thread starts getting out of hand, it is wiser to lock it down.

Warnings usually go over people's heads' Also, the damage has already been done to a good thread at that point.

Others coming in may ignore the original intent of the thread and as usual, concentrate on the personal type attacks that started going happening.

i doubt it was you or the content of the first post/on-topic discussion that destroyed that thread.

edit: generally speaking (or at least this was the case at some point) anything that could be construed as homosexual-bashing was considered grounds for lock/vacation. thread seems to have a bit of that.
