Question Nas to Nas transfer question

Hey I have both an Synology 1817+ nas and just got a Ugreen 8 bay nas. The Ugreen has a 10gb lan on it. If i buy a synology 10gb network card can i attach a ethernet cable directly to each 10gb lan port and transfer my files to make the migration process faster? Do i need to do anything special? (setup)

You could use a direct patch cable, but both NICs would have to be configured to be on the same network.

Most devices in a home network are configured via DHCP rather than manually. So it'd be easier if you had a cheap 10Gb switch, most likely hanging off your wireless router (so that both NAS units could get an IP from the router).

All 10GBE are required to support MDIX so yes you can just connect 2 10GBTE ports together with a wire.
