The Ximeta boxes and now the Netgear SC101 NAS box require client software on each PC that accesses them. That's been treated like a big negative on the forums I've looked at (I don't care because I would only have 3 clients--no big deal). But I was wondering if such a requirement provided any meaningful security against unauthorized access by a determined hacker? If so, I would view it as a plus.
