ok guys, i dont mean for this to become a flame fest, but i was just wondering about something.

i myself am not in any religion, but i believe in jesus, and i was raised in a christian family.

reason why im not even a religion is because i was never baptised. in order to be a religion you're supposed to be baptised, I BELIEVE. dont quote me on that.

anyway, like i believe in god, say my prayers, and all that good stuff. i sin, of course. i ask for forgiveness.

now what i am getting at is i guess the televangilists and all the ppl who claim to be into the lord, but yet to me, they seem to be in it for the $$$. i mean yeah you gotta make a living, but yet sometimes i believe they're just ripping ppl off.

i dont know who is real, and who isnt.

like that guy benny hin, my neighbor, which i used to call grandma, used to watch his show and always go to his shows when he came here for a live show. he does all the healing and all that stuff, and like some ppl go up with cancer then they magically come off without cancer, or arthritis and they magically come off without it. i mean ok i know jesus is capable of doing this feats, and im sure hes given powers to ppl like benny hin, possible. but i mean, c'mon i guess im a skeptic, but i should have faith. the key word is faith. i mean how can those ppl just go up there and lie in front of jesus christ that they're healed if they really arent?

thats ridiculous.

what are your thoughts on this?

Don't worry, some flaming hairy butthole is going to come waltzing in here and stick his unwashed self into this thread and crap a steamer right in it. Most likely Elledan or the like who don't have proof of this staring them in the face.

Sorry for being bitter, but it's probably going to happen. I hope it doesn't...:)

placebo effect?

yea, i think it's either that or they're just bad bad people. i dunno though, some of the stuff seems too hard for it to just be the placebo effect.

Jews are always welcome, Vespasian. If it weren't for the murderous, marauding Jews there would never have been murderous, marauding Christians. Taking that a step further, there probably would never have been any murderous, marauding Muslims, either.

If Jesus would cure certain people's cancer, why did he give it to them in the first place? Was it a typo? I wonder too what the criteria he uses when he decides to cure someones ailments, is there a certain amount of praying you have to do? It seems like there are good people who still get shafted in the end, even though they pray like there's no tomorrow.

People like Benny Hinn....well, just look at the way the man dresses, designer suits, all that jewelry...that really speaks volumes about his true nature. Benny Hinn is on the road to heaven, Mother Teresa and Ghandi are just operatives of satan.

Nope. Not even that. Faith healing is the biggest bunch of BS EVER. They guys in wheel chair who can suddenly walk always could. They were asked if they wanted wheel chairs to be wheeled up to the front. There is also 2 way communication between the evangelist and someone who finds out what's wrong with them. Some people even "go along" with whatever the evangelist tells them so they don't feel stupid. It's all a big scam.

If these people really had some mysterious power, do you really think that scientists wouldn't be interested in researching those powers?

Fact is that all of those people who claim to have healing powers or something can not prove that they do, they can not heal patient after patient in a controlled experiment, therefore it's mere pseudo-science. Spiritual junk, to summarize.

Who knwos...it's possible. Nothing you should get worked over. If those people feel good about themselves giving money to this guy, then let them.

Though i am very skeptic about a lot of this faith healing. I know it does exist. My mom was healed once by the grace of God. It's not one of those i can walk again miracles, but she use to have this ringing noise in her right ear for several years. Of course people prayed and prayed and what not but nothing ever happen. Then one day, by herself she prayed and it just ended. She never heard it again. Of course people can argue every different thing. And I'm sure Elledan well go off with his BS again.( you see that Elledan, I called it BS, again. :D) But my mom knows what happen, I know what happen and God knows what happen. I think that's all what really matters. :)
