<< Napster officials say they are proposing to pay five major record companies $150m per year for five years, using the revenues generated by a new subscription service. >>

The thing that gets me is if Napster truly believes if they weren't infringing on copyright, why would they agree to pay such a hefty sum? They should have stood their ground and told the record companies to f$ck off!!

Now BMG are partners huh? The same companies that tried to stomp out Napster all of a sudden now have an interest in it...what an amazing group of money hungry cornholes these companies are!:| I just hope they share this newfound wealth with their recording artists, parcticularly bigger signing bonuses for the new guys!

Same here Sweet Tooth. I mainly use Napster for the hard to find stuff that record stores want to charge $35.00 to special order, parcticularly the older tunes and bands.

Earlier Rush, older Peppers tunes, Tubes, Steely Dan, Gerry Rafferty..etc. etc. It's great to have these tunes in their purest form...(192kb/s and up)
