Napster and Messenger won't work, ports blocked?

Can't figure out what is going on.... My computer at work running 2000 runs fine, except for those two programs. AIM works fine, no problems getting on the internet, except those two programs act as if there is no internet connection at all. I know, first thought, company blocked the ports. Nope, every other computer here runs those programs fine. Looked in the LMHOSTS file, nothin is blocked, any ideas where else I could look to see if those ports are working fine. I know messenger runs on port 135, how can I check to see if that port is open on this computer? Running netstat -a didn't come up with anything, I'd assume becuase those programs weren't actually able to connect.

Any ideas on where to start with this problem?

Maybe a local permission problem on your computer? But it seems odd to me that they wouldn't block Napster on all the machines.
