I recently installed a Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router, model BEFSR41. Now I have problems with Napster. I get a lot of transfer errors and most of the transfers never even start. If I Disable the "Block WAN Request" and set my computer as a "DMZ Host", it seems to work a lot better. However, I don't want to have to do this because as far as I can tell, that pretty much defeats the firewall. Any suggestions???

You have to forward port 6699 (default napster port) to the computer running napster... so if it were computer w/ IP address 192.168.1.100, you would forward ports 6699 ~ 6699 to computer 100. That way all port information will ONLY go to that computer, which means your other computers won't get anything at all...

when you enabled dmz host on that computer, basically you are letting your firewall down on that computer, and all other computers on the internet could access your cmputer. Not very smart, but that will help with ur napster problem tho.
