Napster 2.0

Access over 4 decades of Billboard chart information
That's kinda cool, since IIRC it's not accessable to the public (I might be wrong though)

Listen to 30-second clips of all songs in the music catalog
Choose what music they want to own, paying only $.99 per song and $9.95 per album
You can get 2nd hand CD's from Amazon for about that and listen to song clips, and have a real CD in your hands.

Get detailed artist and album information
Google.com does a similar thing.

Why pay $10 to download a CD and burn it on your OWN CD's when you can go to the store a buy one for $10 and get the REAL CD with all the liner notes and whatnot?

Like itunes, this is only good for the one song you want, without having to get the whole CD, and you can get it NOW, rather than order or go to the store.

Whelp! Finally tried it. Decided to give it an honest try so I signed up for the premium service. I was a bit disappointed but overall satisfied with the software.

First of all, the premium service only lets you "borrow" tracks. It is an unlimited about of songs BUT there are still songs you cannot borrow. These are "Buy Only" which account for about 20% of there library. All pretty much good songs too. 🙁 There is a way around this "borrowing" thing which is pretty simple but time consuming. That is real real-time recording over your sound card. Which ironically I use another Roxio product for..... Easy Cd Creator. 😀

That and the limited amount of songs are my 2 only major beefs with the software. I loved the interface, player, look and feel of the whole thing. It's all pretty much straight for and VERY easy to navigate through. I love the premium service in which it lets me download a sometimes (buy only tracks in most albums) whole album with just double clicking on it. I can have all the music synchronized to up to 3 computers. The message boards are cool. The browse others music collections is pretty dumb.

Over all I think Itunes has some stiff competition. 😀
