I thought it kind of sucked at first and it grew on me.
Your words..."the napolean guy is the biggest geeky retard stupid character i have ever seen."
That's why I liked it. My 13 year old daughter giggled through the whole thing and it was a lot of fun watching her enjoy it.

I have a bad sense of humor when it comes to movies. I didnt laugh much. But everyone I know enjoyed it, including my family, cousins and many of my friends.

I agree with the OP. Everyone says they love this movie, but personally I don't see its appeal. Straight up sucked my balls. Well, that's part of my life wasted that I will never get back.

Open Water in my books is the worst movie ever.

Spoilers included.

I'm glad I got to see a free screening.

the first 15 minutes of them floating in the water was okay I figured setup but then it kept going on forever. with absolutely nothing happening other than the two arguing with each other. all the guys watch cheered when the husband was killed.

I agree. Probably the worst movie I had ever seen, and I've seen some pretty rank piles of sh!t.

I hated it the first time I watched it too..... Quote the movie for about a month, then go back and watch it again and you'll love it! :)

too lazy to read all the posts, but I skimmed the thread and I agree with those that said there were a few funny parts, but overall it sucked.

After watching the commentary the whole movie made more sense to me. I don't think it was supposed to be coherent, it's pretty much just a bunch of random events that happened to the director when he lived in idaho, and he threw it all together. During the movie he'd just be like "yeah my brother bought a time machine off the internet," "my cousin actually worked in a chicken farm", "my neighbor actually did shoot a cow in front of a bus full of children," etc. etc.

the only people who will not like this movie are those who take themselves and life far too seriously.

dispute me and you prove my point.

I FOUND IT FUNNY! GEEZE!

:)

It's just funny, from the washed up loser uncle getting a time machine to the nerdy brother training to be a cage fighter to the Internet romance that turned out to be completely the opposite of what he said...too much good stuff to mention!

My favorite part of the whole movie though is the farmer shooting the cow. Had nothing to do with the movie, but MAN was that funny :D

Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

:D

I've actually seen a liger in Korea.
According to the tour guide, ligers can't reproduce because the males are shooting blank. The tour guide didn't say anything about magic skills, though :p

Teacher: Your current event, Napoleon.
Napoleon: Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

"You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it"

Let that be a message from Rex for all the Napoleon haters out there

 I liked the movie
