The Intel wireless Keyboard/Mouse/Gamepad kit at $69 looks interesting. Intel still has a $30 rebate on this kit (good till 12/31) which would make your total $39.

That is if you don't mind the number of batteries the mouse eats per week... :disgust:

Chill out man. We're not even close in pricing to the Barrington cities, Oak Brook, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Winnetka, Wilmette, Hinsdale, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum. Average Naperville pricing is only a little over $325,000. The other cities are significantly higher.

That being said, Global sucks. The only thing I ever got that was any good was a 150W mini PS for a uATX case. It was only like $6-7. The only other store that I could find one in was $40.00 Other than that, I've never had any good luck in their sales.

Naperville is getting really crowded really fast.... A lot of young folks seem to be moving there. The land-prices are probably going to keep rising. Oh well, I'm not going to move there :D

Lots of apartments in the area, and lots of reasonably priced homes. Let's face it, it's next to Aurora, has a "Naperville" postal address so it's not in the affluent (i.e. expensive) part of town. I didn't see anything listed that really caught my eye as a great deal.

I spent 3 weeks there for training with Lucent. We ate at the same place everyday but I can't remember the name of it. They had people standing out in the parking lot taking drive-through orders by writing your order on the bag that your food was gonna be served in. Great bigmeat sandwich :)

Portillos?

Global isn't exactly in a "poor" section of town...It's about a block off of Illinois Hwy 59, which is retail heaven...

Portillos is the only place I can think of that people wait in line they way they do. The funny thing is that they have something 20 or so locations in the Chi area (a couple in Japan too) and you wait at all of them. Great dogs/beef and burgers, well worth the wait.

A buddy refers to Naperville as 'Raperville', nothing to do with being molested sexully, just finacially.

Thanks for the link....

As opposed to what, living some place that gets insanely hot in the summer? Ain't no free lunch except for maybe LA or SF but that's a whole different issue...

The short time that I've spent in LA and SF was enough to let me know that everything isn't great about the West either...I know that the cost of living in SF is crazy (Chicago isn't nearly that bad, and if you happen to live right next door in Indiana (I do) the cost of living drops sharply while still being near enough to catch all of the action in Chicago and the suburbs) Of course, traffic can get you, the same as anywhere else.

Having said all of that, it IS cold here right now, and I wish I was in San Diego...;)

It's still not as bad as it could be (catch us on one of those days when the wind is whipping off of the lake - that'll make you run south). Of course, we could be one of those places further north, where its always cold and snowy...
