Napa Wine Train

Has anyone tried this recently? I'm debating on whether to tour Napa via the train or just go to different wineries myself by car.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Don't know about the train, but a friend of mine just got back and said the Coppola winery was the best that she went to. The reserve was inexpensive compared to the rest and the wine is much better (according to her)

I thought the Coppola winery was nice but kinda gheto with all the movie stuff he had in there.

I did the wine train about 10years ago and it was nice, if you get a chance eat at the Napa CULINARY arts school you will love it.

Yeah I'm debating on eating lunch at the CIA or on the train. What do you recommend for the first-time visitor with his fiance who's celebrating her birthday?

The train. hands down.

I *LOVE* Napa. I drive highway 128 every few weeks, going between school and home, and I adore that, straight through Sonoma's Alexander Valley. Enjoy the train- it may work better if you just want something touristy to do.

Is wine tasting at the wineries free? I also heard they give you food that compliments the wine such as imported cheese and meats, is that free too?

From what my friend told me you have to pay for the tour, then the wine is included along with the food. But from what i understand you only get a glass, after that you have to purchase it.

Coppola is the best, although we nearly got tossed out for getting sauced and bathing in the fountain. It was worth it, though.😀
