Not sure how many others here do their own maintenance on their vehicles, but I figured I'd give it a shot here. There could be another PC geek on here who does this sort of thing (like I do). ;)

So I was checking around to see if I could find any good deals for oil filters (Mobil 1 filters are too pricey for me) for our cars after seeing Mobil is once again offering a MIR on their oils (and their filter if you're a fan of them):

Starting at $7 for their Super oil, and all the way up to $17 rebate for their top synthetics if purchased with a filter. The offer is good up to four rebates per household (up to 20 quarts of oil in multiples of 5).

Concerning NAPA, they seem to be offering their Platinum filters (at least for the 3 different vehicles I checked for) on sale for $4.99 each. Since they are on sale, it will not combine with their 20% off bucket promotion. They also are offering their store label full synthetic on sale for $16.99. Combine it with the filter sale, and that's $21.98 for a really good filter and 5 quarts of synthetic oil (which really is a solid deal). However, if you don't mind a mail in rebate, buying the Mobil 1 oil will come out cheaper (especially their Super full synthetic which will be around $10 for 5 quarts). I've never had an issue with Mobil rebates, and I have been doing this for a while.

Another oil deal I came across late last night was through AAFES (military and veterans).

They have 5 quart Valvoline High Mileage Semi-Synthetic oils on sale for $11.95, with free shipping for orders over $49 (or by using their STAR card).

Walmart has reduced the price of several of their Mobil 5 quart oils to $22.88, so in combination with the Mobil 1 $12 mail-in-rebate, that makes the oil $10.88. :D

EDIT:

I just got back from my local Walmart where I bought the oil, and in Walmart's infinite wisdom, it is still full price in store. So if you go there to buy your oil, you will need to get the cashier to price-match Walmart.com, or buy it online and do an in-store pick-up. Just a little personal diatribe, but I hate it when retailers have different pricing between their online and B&M stores without saying the price may vary in-store.
