Names of Good Mixed Drinks Anyone?

OK, so little Sarah is just a LITTLE sheltered...

and now that I'm 21 I need to know names of good mixed drinks (note: I HATE beer). I'm tired of ordering white russians all the time (even though they're delicious). And mudslide's are pretty good too. I need to go to a bar and KNOW what I'm talking about.

Help me out, please!

Mount Gay Rum and tonic with a slice of lime...excellent summer drink

Gin, cranberry, soda water, slice of lime (called a **** fog...can't quite remember), sounds funky but is actually really good.

Pernod or Ricard over ice: these are both french anise (liquorice) flavored...kind of an acquired taste, but very refreshing

maker's-n-coke
rum-n-coke (with a lime)
vodka-n-tonic (with a lime)
gin-n-tonic
vodka martini - two olives please, straight up

Kamakazi - is a fun shot drink that tastes pretty good

rocks=ice
twist=rind of fruit (lime, lemon, orange)
stiff=strong


PS - don't ever let them serve this in a plastic cup. If they won't use glass, find another bar. remember to tip well.

<edit> the generic spirits names above like rum, vodka are called "well" or "house" drinks. Well comes from the well of bottles next to the sink/ice. The bartender just uses a very generic and sometimes of questionable quality alcholol. The Jack-n-coke would be a "call" because you are "calling" the brand you want. Calls are more expensive but I'd rarely drink well stuff. Sometimes however well brands can be decent.

Heeeey! I invented the "floating flaming hot orgasm" you d!ck!

That makes me think of a somewhat warped bartender friend of mine who poured me a shooter once called a "test tube baby". Its a double shot of <me racks seive-like brain> ether Rumpleminz or Goldschlager with a very carefully added snort of oatmeal schnapps. If you pour it right, the schnapps hangs in the middle of the clear liquor like this gross little fetus snotball thingy....really, really not right.:Q

One little aside for those of you who have stated that you hate beer. Maybe give a weiss beer a try sometime? My mom hates beer as well and I bought her a Hoegaarden with a slice of lemon the last time she was in town and she actually liked it. Not saying "you must learn to like beer, damn you!"...just a thought.

Uuummm... As a bartender for 12 years, I would have to disagree with you. Lots of people drink that stuff, especially women.

Drinks women like:

Sex on the Beach
Amaretto Sour
Midori Sour
Sea Breeze
Jack Craniels (My own creation. Jack Daniels (1 1/2 oz), amaretto (1/2 oz), cranberry juice, splash of ginger ale.)
Oatmeal Cookie

etc. etc. etc.

Oatmeal cookies are good... However, becareful when drinking the creamy drinks. They don't always sit well on the stomach. Here are a couple more ideas:

Tanguray gin and tonic (spelling?)- Best gin and tonic I've had. Needs lime
Rasberry Stoli (Stolichnya) vodka and sprite- Tastes like liquid candy. Great stuff.
Amareto Sours
Midori Sours
Whisky Sours
Anti-freeze (my own creation) - Midori, vodka, sour mix, sprite- It glows green just like anti-freeze
