In World War I, American soldiers were called "Doughboys".

In World War II, they were called "GIs".

In Korea, they were called "Dogfaces".

In Vietnam, they were called "Grunts".

In Desert Storm, they were called "Storm Troopers".

Today, they are called "Tali-whackers".

Yeah, i am reading "Black Hawk Down" by David Browen, the book that the movie was based on, and references to "Storm Troopers" are used by the "Skinnies" / "Sammies" . Interesting, America's like the Empire in Star Wars and George W. Bush is DARTH!

In Vietnam, they were called "Grunts".

Only the infantry were called "grunts". The vast majority of military personnel were "support". Artillery, armored, air power, naval power were not grunts.

This is not to belittle the infantry in any way. They took the greatest losses.

God bless our fallen soldiers!
