"Name your own price" bidding on Priceline.com... any good guidelines for how to bid succesfully?

Going to give the Priceline.com "name your own price" a try. Does anyone know if there's a good rule of thumb to apply to have maximum success in lowballing the site and getting your bid accepted? I figure I'll take the lowest fare shown and knock an additional percentage off that, but what percentage?

Used it once for an airline, never again. Found flights on expedia as cheap as what Priceline offered, and I wasn't beholden to that, "You will fly anywhere between 6 am and 12 pm on the day of travel" garbage. If you actually do find a flight for cheaper than expedia, I'd like to hear about it.

I like Sidestep, made a couple of reservations through it, got really frustrated using Priceline...

sidestep comes up as spyware on my dad's computer, but he won't let me remove it.
