Name this movie

For some reason last night I thought of this old movie I saw when I was a kid. I thought it was Robot Jox but I watched the trailer and that doesn't seem to be it.

This movie would have been released in the late 80s/early 90s. I'm pretty sure there were giant robots in it that people piloted. I remember one scene when the guy was in the robot and it basically mimicked your movments inside it. like there if you walked in place, it would make the robot walk forward.

I also seem to recall it being in the desert and there being a guy on a motorcycle who comes to this small building and there's something about freon, either they need it to survive or maybe someone was using it as a drug?

maybe i'm mixing up 2 different movies too? if anyone knows what it was, tell me!

not that one either, unless what i'm thinking of isn't shown in the trailer at all.
or i'm thinking that one was Robot Jox and the other part was a totally different movie

edit: I don't recall the freon bit being in RobotJox. Sounds like you're mind-melding your movies.

ok, i must be thinking of 2 different movies then.

any idea what the 2nd one is?

I vaguely remember something like that. I remember a movie where countries didn't go to war anymore, they just sent there best robot fighters to battle it out. They were these 30-40 stories tall robots that fought out in the middle of nowhere. I have no clue on the title of it though.
