Name this movie

This movie was probably made in the 90 or possibly even the 80s. It was set in WWII and centered on a group of guys who were the crew of a B-17 flying fortress. One of the crew members was an artist or cartoonist. The only other part I remember was that near the end, they were returning home and one tire from the landing gear was out or was destroyed. In the last few moments before landing, the artist guy drew a tire and it appeared on the plane and they landed safely.

I saw this movie at least half-a-dozen times when I was a kid. The name escapes me too, though.

Edit: Amazing Stories, eh? For a second, I was wondering if this might have been an episode of 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'

yep, that was it! Amazing Stories. An episode called The Mission. Just watched it on Netflix.
