I'm always looking for bands/artists that I've never heard of. Name that one band or artist that you wish everyone had at least heard once in their life! Try posting a Youtube video (or some other video/sound clip) for example's sake
Streetlight Manifesto
Genre: Ska
Youtube clip: Keasbey Nights (it's live, and honestly doesn't sound very good but their CD is definitely worth checking out)
I know Streetlight is Catch 22 evolved...but '98 Keasbey was so much better.
And I'm sure a lot of people know of them, but I just love them so much:
VNV - don't mind the video, it was the only one with decent sound quality.

VNV Nation...I've always referred to them as such, probably because I'm incredibly lazy.

haunting melody and just stunning lyrics.
"Carnavas" is an excellent CD.Originally posted by: Judgement
Silversun Pickups
I'm not sure if they're a local band or not but no one around Philly played them until about 6 weeks after I had started listening.
They remind me of early Smashing Pumpkins, so check them out:
Check out songs: Melatonin, Lazy Eye, Rusted Wheel
I have their CD and enjoy all of it.

U.P.O. I'm sure no one will actually check them out, but they are an awesome rock band.

Yeah, they have some good stuff. I like their older stuff more than the newer though. Praise the Fallen is probably my favorite. The last CD of theirs I bought was Futureperfect and I downloaded Matter and Form but I wasn't all that impressed. Looks like they've got a new one coming out soon.
