So my friend has been bugging me to ask around for a movie from late 80's - early 90's maybe. He doesnt know any of the actors but has some plot points.

-Live action / animated
- Boy and his dog traveling in car (animated world)
- Begining of movie drive through mirror in house to get to world
- One point in movie, they encounter one guy whos fixated with the alphabet
- Another guy fixated with numbers, they both hate each other
-Dog can talk in animated world

That all he has, if anyone can help that would be awesome.

Yep, he had been trying to google it FOREVER and couldnt get anywhere. He said its been 10 year since he had remembered the title. It started bugging him enough to ask me, and I knew ATOT would come through.

It's a trippy movie.
There's also a live-action stage show! Truly bizarre.

It reminds me very much of the Mr. Show skit about The Altered State of Druggachusetts
 
Ok that didn't last long, my turn to pick a movie!

1) This was originally a made-for-TV movie in the early 90's.
2) One of the featured products "stunk like shit, and smelled like a fart"
3) Was based on an actual company takeover that involved cigerettes.

Barbarians At The Gate.
Excellent film. Caveat - it was made for HBO (which is TV, but they have a bit higher production standards than USA)
