Name that mobo!

I have an unidentified motherboard...

I will describe what I can, but if there is something I should specifically look for, please let me know.

It works with a Pentium2MMX 266. It has 1agp, 5pci, and 2isa. Yea. That's my crappy description..

I'm also wondering if a 100mhz cpu will work in it? or at least pc100 ram (which sets itself to 66, right?)?

Any help is appreciated. Or let me know what else I should identify from the motherboard for more specifics. Thanks

if it has AGP it should be a SS7 Board should it not? that means it will do 100FSB and woek with the K6-2's, 3's etc. BTW what does it say on the chipset or is there a heatsink on it.

If it's a P2-266 then it probably uses a Intel LX chipset, which doesn't run at 100MHz -it officially only runs at 66MHz(you may be able to hack it to get it to run at 100MHz).
The LX chipset was the first to support AGP and hence only has an early revision of AGP and some more recent video cards have problems with this chipset. You should be able to run PC100 and PC133 with your motherboard but obviously it will run at 66MHz.

You may be lucky and have a BX chipset on the motherboard which will run at 100Mhz

What is the BIOS string ? (The long string of numbers + letters which appears across the bottom of the screen on POST)

If you have this you may be able to identify your board at www.ping.be/bios

🙂😉

My mobo is this:

2A69J: Intel 440LX/EX chipset (Pentium II based chipset)

So.. what kind of CPU can I get up to? Celeron? Which celerons? I can't take 266 madness anymore...

why didnt you say it was a LX in the first place 🙂 well you should be able to take any 66FSB celeron if it can supply the voltage requierd.

also..

if it's a 66mhz bus, then i can put in pc66 or pc100 or pc133 right? seems like pc133 is cheaper at some places...
