Sentenced to death for corrupting the youth...

Extra bonus point for naming the modern day equivalent and then realizing the ramifications it has (show will be on Sirius Radio soon).

i could've gotten a free radio from howard stern at union square a few months ago when they were trying to showcase his satellite radio appearance. too bad i didn't know what the "freebies" were.....

socrates of course, but comparing him to howard stern is laughable

I don't know much about Socrates but yeah I don't think I would compare him to Howard Stern. 🙂

Obviously, to compare them intellectually would be absurd, but in terms of popularity with the government of their times, they are very similiar......in the end, when will we ask Stern to poison himself? That is the question.

Okay, another...name the historical figure who died of a fever near babylon after winning a war.

Well, I never saw it.

Fine...next one...hmmm..

Okay, obscure one:

Name this famous Stoic war leader and dictator who also wrote philosophical treatises.

Edit: Hint: he was Italian

No googling.

Cookie for the right answer.

Mussolini?

I knew the Alexander the Great one, too bad I got beaten 🙁

I might have guessed Caesar...who I know wrote well but I'm not sure I'd call his writing philosophical treatises. Perhaps a contemporary of his...Brutus maybe?

Of course, there would be Machiavelli (probably spelled wrong) who philosophized at length but was never a war leader
