Name that Card!

Obviously it's a gigabit fibre card, but I don't know who manufactured it or what model, etc. Anyone feel like helping me out? 😀

Well, it looks like an Intel card, but as to the model number I can't see anything useful. Try looking on the back, sometimes there is useful information printed there. Also, try putting it in a Windows XP Pro system and see if it's detected. Windows XP seems to have drivers for most everything, and if you can do this it will probably be able to tell you exactly what it is 🙂

Unfortunatley, I don't have a server with 64 bit slots, so I doubt it'd recognize it :disgust:

Crap, i didn't notice the extra pins there when I first looked at it. 😱
Anyway, did you see anything interesting on the back of it? I'll check Intel's web site to see if I can find out any more about it, though.

<< I wonder if it's this one... >>

that's 1/2 height, mine is basically full height :/

<< Most 64bit cards will still work in a 32bit PCI, the extra pins just hang out >>

and decreases bandwidth/speed/etc yes, I'm scared to try since I'd have to put it in my roomies computer, not mine (laptop)

Just curious, why did you get this card in the first place?

I got a rack server (non auction), asked what cards were in the pics, they said gigabit, I said gimme, they said ok, and sent me 2 one was copper gigabit, one was fibre 🙂
