True -- forgot to mention him in my list. Saw the great video for "liar" on MTV-X before they replaced it with MTV-Jams :b

man besides the get up kids you reccommend a big pile of CRAP. MXPX are the kings of crappy music

i love goldfinger

i've lost respect for midtown (hear what they did with their label guys?)

and for those of you talking about how some bands are better than others, some are crap, etc etc etc..

shut up already, its all about taste, just because you don't think they're punk or you think they suck doesn't mean it's true or everyone shares the same opinion..

on that note..

fvCK you and you're CAT

apparently they got mad at their label because they put some band into a timeslot into one of their shows without midtowns permission (the band were big fans of midtown too.. local band).. and they got all pissed off and were yelling and whining about it in front of that other band (how disrespectful?).. and this and that and they didnt talk for awhile then someone interviewed them and they talked all this sh`t about the label that wasnt true.. like how they screwed them and money this and that..

label wrote a thing in response to it making midtown look like little bitches.. saying EXACTLY what happened and stuff.. i read it awhile ago so i might be off but here's the letter

Like...old punk bands or current ones? I don't know any current ones, but I used to listen to:

Minor Threat
SNFU
Circle Jerks
Dissonance
Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (DRI)
The Bats
Suicidal Tendencies (yes, they started out as a punk band)
Agnostic Front
Corrosion of Conformity (yes, they started out as a punk/thrash band)
The Replacements (no, not the newer band, The Replacements of "Hootenanny" fame)
Husker Du
Johnny Rotten and [I forget the rest of their name]
Dr. No (or is it Know?)
The Meat Puppets
The Minute Men
Butthole Surfers
Dead Kennedies
Black Flag
and a dozen others I cannot remember anymore

The funny thing about punk, is that it is anti-everything just for the sake of being anti-something. When I was 15, I thought it was really cool. Now that I am an adult, I realize how utterly moronic and sophomoric their message and lyrics were. Of course, that just about sums up everything most 15 year-olds think are cool...lol!

The Strokes

The White Stripes

They're new bands and sound a bit like Iggy Pop. Not hardcore punk but great tunes.

hehe, more like the great grandchildren of punk...there have only been about 30 bands who deserve credit for putting punk on the map before the members of blink182 were even out of diapers.

Damn, and I was about to say Dead Kennedys since no one else said it.

Dead Kennedys!
