The Adjuster

Spun - Simply fantastic story about a bunch of meth heads. Mickey Roark gives the performance of his life, and yes I have seen The Wrestler- blows that out of the water!

Elling

Arsenic and Old Lace - The most mainstream of my recommendations, but due to it's age, probably very few of you have even heard of it, so here it is. Just terrific!

Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe? - The truest marriage gone wrong film ever made, it is both powerful and hilarious, and both Liz Taylor and Richard Burton give the performances of their lives, probably because they had the same knockdown drag out fights in their real lives and reliving them was simple.

I just saw Micmacs recently. Was WAY better then i expected. I still laugh to myself when i think of him pretending to clean his teeth in the window. I own City of Lost Children which i love. Amelie' is also great and quirky.

But yeah Alien Resurrection should be strucken from the records lol What was he thinking.

If you think about AR, it starts out not so bad. You certainly can not complain about the cast. Winona Ryder was actually quite terrific. Brad Dourif is always terrific! Ron Perlman is always terrific! Dominique Pinon is always awesome!

The shots were gorgeous through the first half.

Somewhere along the line, and probably due to the director's use of very expensive sets, elaborate camera cranes and dollies, and at the time very expensive CGI, budgets were trimmed and the film was forced to wrap before the director got the story he wanted, leaving the editors to cobble together what was done.

A lot of it feels like Hollywood executive interference caused the problems. I just don't see Caro/Jeunet putting this film out as it was by choice.

I also feel the writers left out too much sci and included too much fi.

The end of the film is the biggest botched abortion in a sci-fi history choc full of abortions.

My wife and I just finished watching that last night!

People talked about it lots when it first showed, though (1960s).

Yeah it's one of the top comedies of all time and ran on syndicated TV from time to time for decades. Great movie, but undeserving of this thread.

Here's a recent one that precisely 18 people have seen:

The Extra Man

hilarious. Kevin Kline plays one of the most brilliantly hilarious characters that I have recently encountered.

available on Netflix streaming.

Kingpin is one of my all time favorite movies.

I have no idea how Fido didn't become more popular. That movie was awesome!

Read before burning. ...self ownage.

oops, been listening to a mixtape called burn after rolling with a similar cover. self owned.

also, spun weirded me out. i know its a part of life, but extreme cruelty to women always leaves me with mixed feelings about a movie.
