Yeah, but that usually comes up as a separate question. It's usually "So, any hobbies?" and then after I say "I play computer games sometimes" they'll say "Yeah, that's cool. What music you listen to?" and I'll say "Mostly heavy metal stuff" and they'll say "Yeah, that's cool" and the conversation ends there.

How about "Mostly heavy metal stuff, but a little of everything". and they say "yeah, that's cool" and you respond with "How about you?". But it appears you actually don't want to have the conversation at all in the first place though.

Maybe it's time to buy a cabin in the woods and get yourself a nice set up in front of your computer.

Actually, I'll usually realize thirty minutes after the conversation that I never asked them. Regular conversation moves too fast for me and makes me nervous so I forget to. I have a bad habit of responding to questions with yes or no without further elaboration tbh.

It appears you need to work more on basic conversation skills than on fake hobbies. Otherwise, it's:
"What are your hobbies?"
"Photography and electronics."
"That's cool."
"Yeah."
