Honestly, any of the super awesome battery technology that we have heard of every year for the last 20 years would be nice.

Could replace - if it didn't explode with the force of a small bomb after 10 charge cycles, or if it could sustain more than 50 cycles without losing most of its capacity, or if it could be produced for less than $50,000/watt-hour, or if...and on it goes.
Sure, we could fly humans to Mars in an hour - if we had antimatter-fueled rockets, and if we didn't care about getting them there alive or physically intact, and if it was ok to have the spacecraft "land" by impacting into the ground at high speed.
Yet the article would likely be titled, "Humans could travel to Mars in 1 hour."
