For real fantasy stuff, time travel. It might be possible depending on how the universe is really put together. For unrealistic stuff, ftl travel. For something I might actually see, cheap, efficient solar cells.

CPU and GPU rendering powerful enough to produce photorealistic renders in a snap....for less than $300.

A stick of gum with rounds edges so the corners don't poke your checks when you first put it in your mouth.

Done...

I would love to have a car that could drive itself. No more issues with traffic jams, just sit back and watch a movie.

Or better yet how about teleportation, instead of a hour and a half commute to the office, just step in a teleportation chamber and get to work in .087 seconds.
1. Mind Contro Device. I could wear it like one of those wireless earbuds and control the minds of others within a given proximity.
2. Invisibility Cloak. I could wear it like one of those wireless earbuds and control the minds of others within a given proximity.
3. 1+2 (see above)
4. Penis enlargement pills to benefit my fellow men that women complain about being too short. o_O
5. 1+2+3 (see above)

Something which can actually make the average ATOT's a functioning social being.

I know I'm asking too much.

Direct neural interface for computers, and go right from repetitive strain injury to repetitive brain injury.

World blanket of true super high bandwidth/speed data.

Make cables a thing of the past for home/business internet.

I'm talking gig bidirectional type speeds with the bandwidth to handle anything that can be thrown at it.

In regards to the OP and automated cars.

In the movie Minority Report, I really liked how they did a take on the future and how cars would work. The cars were able to be driven freely on smaller roads but when they got into the main highways it was a kind of electro-magnetic looking pathway on the ground that the cars would lock into and be taken along until they got to where they needed to get off. What I like about this over something like say Googles driverless car of today is it's not countless cars all working off the need that all the other cars do not malfunction.

I'd want a replicator. Then after we have a huge war because money becomes pointless, the world would be a better place.

Honestly, any of the super awesome battery technology that we have heard of every year for the last 20 years would be nice.

:) Yeah.
"This battery technology could replace lithium, and it's got 20x higher energy density!" Could replace - if it didn't explode with the force of a small bomb after 10 charge cycles, or if it could sustain more than 50 cycles without losing most of its capacity, or if it could be produced for less than $50,000/watt-hour, or if...and on it goes.

Sure, we could fly humans to Mars in an hour - if we had antimatter-fueled rockets, and if we didn't care about getting them there alive or physically intact, and if it was ok to have the spacecraft "land" by impacting into the ground at high speed.
Yet the article would likely be titled, "Humans could travel to Mars in 1 hour."

Medical nanobots that repair your body constantly & preserve your life indefinitely. Or, the ability to upload your consciousness to a computer. Essentially I would like a way to live forever with good health.
