Name a Fun Multiplayer Game (PC)

In the past, we played a lot of Diablo 2 together. Recently, we played Final Fantasy XI. Since my son was born, I had to quit. FFXI is just not a game you can throw a couple of hours into and be done.

Currently, I'm really into Oblivion, but obviously, it's not multiplayer.

Given that we're fans of the RPG genre can someone make a recommendation? I've thought about dusting off my Neverwinter Nights discs. ; ;

I'd prefer not to get into another MMORPG. They just take too much time.

giuld wars? silkroad online (although the graphics look kind of crappy compared to the load it requires, and the game has too much engrish).

any rts games. my fav is war3. no good rpg games out that aren't mmos that could give you multiplayer.

All MMORPGs require a ton of time, so I tend to play more action oriented games.

Day of Defeat: Source is my top favorite right now, and games like Continuum, Gunbound and Blitz 1941 are cool too. Blitz and Gunbound have RPG elements...you get money, buy better avatars, tanks, cannons, etc. so you might be into that.

Can you play Co-op on DoD? We usually play together, not against.

DoD is a First Person Shooter Multiplayer game. It will require each of you to have an individual computer on which to play, and then you can join the same server together. Once you've done that, you can either be on the same team or play against eachother.

I really like DoD: Source, even though I probably spend more time playing Counter-Strike: Source.

Despite being old, System Shock 2 is still quite fun, decent looking and reasonably immersive for COOP play. Especially if you download some different models

SWAT 4 is pretty fun COOP lately imo, and it's cheap too. I don't have the expansion, but it looks very cool, and maybe the "Gold" edition is out that contains both at a decent price.
