A commentary on each of the cards would be an extremely popular thread to read here I would think.

For example: ATi Radeon X800XT P.E. AGP

This card debuted as the successor to the popular 9800XT.
With AGP bus and 256MB of VRAM it was the World's Fastest Card on release in 2004 taking the title from the only recently released NVidia 6800Ultra.
Possibly made of "Unobtanium":sneaky: it ran fairly hot and noisy,was very fast, very expensive and was pretty hard to get.Low production meant availability was patchy and it was fairly soon replaced by the strong X850XT/PE which sold in relatively large numbers and was much more widely available.The X800XT PE was known to overclock well with a pencil volt mod.
The X800XT Platinum Edition AGP graphics processor(sometimes known as the Ghost Edition) is considered by collectors to be one of the most coveted in any serious collection.


You seem a fairly vendor agnostic kind of fellow so it would be interesting to read and discuss your commentary on each of the special cards you have or any of particular interest.

Canopus Pure3D. Highest end Voodoo Graphics card there was.

And a complete pos. I RMA'd so many of them they started sending me Pure 3D II's as replacements. I didn't complain about the free upgrade to a Voodoo 2 though.

I have a 12 meg diamond Monster 3d II with the cable

X1950XT- yes I have one but it is the 256 meg version
I do have an x1950 XTX but unfortunately it arrived with damaged from shipping.

8800 GTS 640mb (G80)- I have them in SLi and also sli'ed 320 meg versions

TNT- I have a Riva TNT 64

I am very vendor agnostic. Been into graphics cards ever since I saw Voodoo powered Quake 2 wayyyy back in the day. This forum really has molded the way I share with the community about my collection and current flavor of the month. I used to be a rig in the sig kind of guy, but too many posters read what I am currently using and accuse me of being a fanboi of whatever card I currently have. It's simply draining to have to go throught that all the time.

I would enjoy doing a thread like you stated but I feel like it would be a ton of work and turn into a pissing match about what is and what was.

I currently have about 130 or so cards. With about another 20 or so that are only useful as paperweights and organ donors.

I have a 2 test benchs setup, 1 agp and 1 pci-e rig so I can test cards upon arrival. I also have best XP rig decked out with my favorite gear from about 2005 when I moved back from California and finally had time to start enjoying the hobby more.

FX-60, Crossfire x1900 XTX / master card. Awesome rig.
 
Oldest one I have is an old 6600gt PCI paired with a pentium III 667 and 0.5GB RAM. It's missing a PSU and IDE drive though. I had a HD 5770 at one point, but that broke and wasn't that old. I also have a RAGE 128 somewhere.

Just a suggestion, how about make that a Hawaii vs GK110 bench-off thread instead.? Would be interesting to see some Tis, Titans, 290s, etc in there.

Or you guys could also just post in the old AT Bench-off thread that Face2Face started.
That way other people could participate.

Again, just food for thought.😛😛😛

I nice idea. I removed the old thread, but I can bring it back. Lava what do you think? Do you want just our Lightnings? or just a thread where everyone can participate?
