Brought back lots of memories..some good, some not so good...but still GREAT pics.

A good friend was the crew cheif on the last US Army helicopter to leave the US Embassy in Saigon in 1975. He has some great pics as well, some of the throng of people trying to get on that helicopter to escape the advancing NVA.

(the old warhorse deployed to Iraq about a year ago..as the oldest member of the NJ National Guard)

40 years from now your children will look at 2D images of Iraq and Afghanistan and probably feel the same way... If US still survives...

The children running from the napalm attack; there just aren't words adequate.

Children should never, ever know that kind of horror.

its very depressing that my parents and family lived through that. my father was a Lt. in the southern army. seeing pictures like that always gets me emotional and have thoughts about what if they never made it out of there and if was born there or would have even been alive.

i thought the father holding the body of his child was far worse.

no parent should ever have to bury his own child.

Though in a better, more sane world, no one should.

I work at the museum where that CH-46 is displayed. :)

Great pictures...thanks for the link. I've seen a lot of those, but seeing them all together is fantastic.

I went back and visited the US embassy in Saigon and it was totally difference. The tall building (with the landing for helicopters) was no longer there.

VN is much different now, more busy, more people, and sadly, more dust and air/water pollution.
