Just saw the commercial for that Nair hair removal cream and was wondering if it works. I'm getting tired of shaving my face every day (hair growns abnormally fast) and think this would make things a lot cleaner and quicker.

So, any testaments?

no, it doesnt really work that well....

there is a product called Magic Powder that is cheap that can be used for very coarse hair.. that works much better than nair. You might want to try the Sally Hansen Hair Removal products specifically for the face!

as i say in all shaving threads... WAX, IT WORKS!

I dont think it works for thicker hair, just the peach fuzz.

Waxing kinda hurts if you are sensitive to pain - esp if you have full beard etc. I just stick with the shaving.

For facial hair?

women get it done all the time... although, their hair is (usually) not as coarse as a mans :)
isn't beard hair/facial hair somewhat similar to pubic hair down south?
It would work then.

I suppose.

But as far as "down south" is concerned, I can't even imagine how you women do it. That would be like torture to me.

"I'll tell you anything you want to know, just put down the wax!"

I shudder just thinking about it. :Q

I don't think Nair is for the face, is it? I would think it would burn your face off.

It works, but it's WAYYYY too harsh for the face. You'll be all red and blotchy from chemical burns!

I have hairy-back-itis and I use it every 3-4 weeks. Works great! Better than shaving because the hairs don't come out all stubly.

Definately not something you'd want to put on anything but your legs or back though.

Oh, and it works well with thick hair, but you have to leave it on for 10 minutes or so.

Damn, knew something like that would happen. So waxing is my only other solution?

I can't imagine waxing would be any faster than shaving

I believe with waxing, it takes hair longer to grow back because you're pulling the roots.

Don't use it on your junk. There was a guy on here a few years back who did and he said it burned like crazy. :)

They do sell shaving powder, but I think that's for people with beards.

Shaving powder looks nice, might give that a shot.

BTW-, why don't you get a high quality electric shaver? I have a Braun Activator- it cleans the shaver with an alcohol bath after each use, and it takes like 30 seconds for me to shave each morning.

This puppy shaves closer than any blade I've ever used + no cuts :)

I've always hated electric shavers; when I used one it irratated my skin and didn't do to good of a job on the shave. Probably because I was using a cheap one; guess I'll look into the Braun. :)

Wait...an electric shaver irritated your skin, you instead you're thinking of using a product that uses lye to melt hair off your face?

It was because of the friction, or whatever.

There are a couple of products for removing facial hair, one is by Sally Hansen (sp?) and the other is called Surgi-Cream or something like that. They are used by women for removing facial hair, but I don't know if they would work for hair as thick and coarse as a man's beard.
