NAD Power Protection Problem

HELP. I recently added an Oppo B103D to my system and immediately started to experience receiver going into power protection mode. This happened with both movies and CD listening.

NAD T748, NAD 546CBEE CD, Oppo 103, Sonus Faber 2.0 Venere front and center, B&W M1 rear JL F112 Sub.

I've checked all connections and all is fine with the exception of rear speaker wire was split by dog a week ago and I spliced with tape. Could that be the culprit? replacing wire today.
