So for all that this thread deteriorated into, why is no one simply shocked that one of the highest elected officials in our government believes it is okay to "investigate" based solely on political opinion?

Seriously.

This is not a left/right issue here folks. This is an official who has absolutely no respect for the right of ANY American to criticize their government and/or voice an opinion, right or wrong. In effect, the core of our First Amendment.

The sooner all the asshole Republicans die the better. Only the brain dead sleep to the fact that the only reason there is any attention to a mosque at ground zero is because it can be used to gin up the dregs of society, the haters looking for something to hate so they can be turned out in their psychotic rage to vote for Rescumlicans. By this means do the shit of our society keep grasping for power. Only worthless scum who are anti-American oppose the religious freedoms of others granted by the Constitution. Scum loving Anti-Americans are what they are. Their bloom like a red tide is exactly why we were attacked. It is their hate and their fear that the terrorists sought to fester and boil like puss sacks in the flesh of this once great nation. You rotten worthless bastards are as worthless as the terrorists that attacked us, stupid, fearful, demented little cowards.

Strike a nerve perhaps?

Good gravy man.

Because it's not shocking. Did anyone seriously believe that she had any principles? She has never been principled. Without politics, she is nothing. She wouldn't exist. The second she gets voted out of office, she'll melt like the wicked witch of the west.

Vote her ass out. Period. There is nothing else we can do except complain, and that gets us nowhere.

You being in San Diego: Will you be able to vote against her?

thats bullshit.

when you are faced with little work and a offer to feed your family you do it. Not to mention many who are against the mosque being build there also know that to do so would be wrong.

Where is your respect for the Constitution? the government should NOT have any fucking say (well besides zoning and safety) if this gets built. To do so goes against what this nation was for.

You talk about respecting the country. but only in things you agree with.

one nation under God...

separation of church and state happened after that document went to press.

No. Her district is basically downtown San Francisco.

Yeah she's a piece of shit and the idiots in San Francisco keep voting her into office. Nothing the rest of us in California can really do about it.

Is she going to investigate the flaming right-wing hack known as Howard Dean for being against it?

Yep. She consistently wins by 70-80%. Simply amazing to me.

I think she could get convicted of 1st degree murder and still win her district

Yes, it's quite remarkable that Republicans have trouble winning in San Francisco. I'm trying to rack my brain to come up with a totally inflexible position that Republicans in general hold that would be offensive to many residents of San Francisco. But honestly, I just can't come up with a reason why the residents of San Francisco aren't falling all over themselves to vote Republican...it's just a mystery, is what it is...

Edit: Also, repeatedly wishing that terrorists would attack the city probably isn't helping either.

... Who said anything about wanting them to elect a Republican? We just don't want Pelosi re-elected. Replace her with another Democrat for all I care, just get her the fuck out the stupid twat.

???wow, Bob, wow!

The core of this whole argument is idiots trying to deny Muslim Americans their 1st Amendment rights.

Denying someone their civil rights is a crime in this country.

I very much disagree. I think she's great and the best speaker we've had in a long time.

Wow. Big surprise there. The more you type, the more bot-like you appear to be.

The Congress has passed a lot of good things under her that get killed by the Senate Republicans abusing the filibuster.

Like bills that we "have to pass to see what's in them"?

Don't worry FuzzyBee...Dems won't object when the shoe is on the other foot. They'll have no problem with major bills (profoundly affecting America's future) being drafted behind closed doors and rushed to passage. They will do nothing to 'obstruct' Republican legislative efforts in order to get something they want.

After all, they have taught us well how government should work.

lolwat? Are you on meds again or something?

Go back and read what I quoted of your's...we have freedom of religion based on the constitution hence why our President is saying he has no problems building the mosque (even though he thinks personally it's a bad idea).

IMHO the only reason there is an issue of this is too many think muslims are all *derka derka*/terrorists.

you are a fucking idiot. really.

nowhere did i say anything AGAINST the president for saying what he did. In fact i have said he is right. The mosque can be built and stopping it is wrong.

What you quoted (again read the fucking posting idiot) is a response to someone saying that they won't get anyone to build it because they have respect for the country.

try to fucking understand what people say before you post. it helps you look like less of a idiot.

Agreed.

I was very surprised to hear her make that threat.

Strikes me as a threat to abuse the 4th to supress the 1st. That's serious abuse by a gov official.
