Anyone notice this? I just moved to Louisiana from Chicago and I got a small pack of doritos for lunch and they tasted horrible. WTF?

Assuming that the chips do taste worse, the rest of our food is better.

Ok, maybe not our pizza, but real cajun food > * (As long as you moved to south louisiana)

I'm living smack dab downtown NO...a block from the quarter really. But sadly I'm Vegetarian so I wont ever enjoy the cajun food this place has to offer...

Know of any vegetarian dishes by any chance?! haha

Different factory maybe? I know many brands modify the taste slightly based on the country, but I'm not aware of too many products which change flavor based on position in the US.

yeah. I know people might flame me for this but here they taste more corny. I realise they're corn chips but its an overwhelming taste...and its not good.

Buy them from a different store or something. Most likely this store or vending machine got an odd shipment.

Dude, throw away the Doritos and proceed directly to Zapp's.

Zapps?
Go to the grocery store, go to snacks section, buy Zapp's Cajun Crawtators.

vegetarian.

i don't see the problem.

and even if there are mud bugs in there, it's not like the things are animals, have a soul, or go to heaven. they're bugs. they deserve death. and if that death involves a pot of boiling water, a whole can of zatarain's crawfish boil, a few ears of corn, beloved patriot potatoes, and some peanuts, well, then they've served a better purpose.

not to mention that, because frito-lay is from the south (dallas), it's the chips up in yankeeland that taste funny.

Moved from hammond IN (1 mile south of Chicago) to TN and I dont taste any differance at all. May want to wash your hands after tugging on the one eye'd wonderworm. The leftovers from that may be effecting the taste especially when you go lip smacking your hands getting every bit of left over cheese from both places ;)

Yeah I've heard of companies doing this, learned about it in marketing class. I think Pepsi changes the sweetness of the soda mix based on the demographics; iirc the east US prefers the more sugary flavor. Or south.

The Zapps potato chips of which he speaks, though named for a crawfish, do not contain crawfish. They are just really, really spicy.

Get a bag. Doritos suck. They always have, regardless of region.

and even if they did, mud bugs are not seafood. they're mud. spicy, tasty little balls of mud.
