McNabb is not that good. There are plenty of other NFL quarterbacks that are better than McNabb.

Name them. I'll give you Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and maybe Carson Palmer, but who else would you say is better?

Trent Green, Drew Brees, Bret Favre (maybe not this year), Eli Manning, Jake Delhomme

Bullocks. Give them a crippled offense like McNabb has and I guarantee you none of the above mentioned QBs (with the exception of the Tom Brady and Peyton) could perform any better.

Maybe Favre 4 years ago and Eli 4 years from now you might argue, but I can't even take you seriously based on the fact that you included Green and Delhomme on this list.

You can make a racial issue out of anything.

Next article's topic will be on "whites refusing to use cream in their coffee, irish racial tensions cited".

Obviouslly you don't watch much football. Trent Green is a great QB. Put him in a major city and he makes the pro bowl almost every year. Don't even bother to compare numbers between Green/McNabb because they aren't even close. Trent Green makes McNabb look sick. Take a look at Delhomme vs McNabb last year. Last year McNabb had his best year ever and his numbers are about equal with Delhomme who had half his offense injured last year. McNabb isn't that good.

At least you understand what I have been trying to convince people of. I am a loyal Eagles fan born and raised, season ticket holder and disgruntled fan. McNabb has never been an accurate passer and has terrible tunnel vision down the field, he telegraphs his pass horribly. McNabb is not the type of QB that should be running a complex west coast offense like the one designed in Philly (not that I support the offensive scheme either).

Yea right.

Heck being from around Philly i know many Eagle fans here that even think hes not that great.

Well I was born and raised an Eagles fan, I am a season ticket holder. Trust me there are more then just "many" fans here who think he sucks. I mean sure he had a great season overall last year, but time and time again the man just plain chokes!!!! (Super Bowl). He has used every excuse in the book for failing at the QB position when he does choke.

Sorry, typical Philly fan disgruntled about a crap season.[/quote]

This is the problem with Philly. The team's so great (we need to take this statement on faith and ignore the current season) that anything short of a superbowl win is a complete failure. Quarterback's the best scapegoat because the offense flows through him, and he has to make up for and adjust for the mistakes of everyone else on the offense, and by the same measure, the defense and special teams.

McNabb is a quality quarterback.

Agreed. He needs a very simple offense because he just isn't that good of a QB for the pros.

You keep thinking that everyone else is making the mistakes. Put Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Trent Green, Drew Brees, Bret Favre, Eli Manning, or Jake Delhomme instead of McNabb and you have a superbowl jugernaut. Outside of McNabb, the rest of the Eagles team is really good IMO.

Well I don't know about really good, they are riddled with injury, they don't really have any quality wide receivers right now. I still agree with your statement about putting any one of those QB's in there with the rest of the Eagles offense and they would be a formidible team. The really sad thing right now is Reid doesn't think they need to pick up a #1 wide receiver in the off season to replace T.O., Reid thinks that Reggie Brown can fill that spot....crazy bastard. Reggie Brown is a great wide receiver for a rookie and a nice #2 receiver, but he is for sure not a replacement for T.O.!!!!

I'm not going to read all the replies to this because some of you are complete idiots.

Rush Limbaugh knows as much about football as my dog does.

This clown in the NAACP is a bigger idiot.

You Philly fans saying he's not that good are at the top of the idiot food chain. How many QB's in the history of the NFL have taken their team to 4 straight conference championship games? I think he's one of 3 QB's that have ever done that. You can't win every game, every year - some day you idiots may want to comprehend that fact.

The guy is an amazing player - he has pretty much, other than TO, had ZERO talent around him. Yes, Westbrook is a nice player, but he's far from an elite back, and really, he only came on big time last year. Prior to last season, who was the best WR/RB/TE for McNabb to work with? Thrash? Staley? It was a miracle that team did as well as they did offensively, and most of that was because of McNabb.

And those of you saying he has abandonded the run because he wants to be like the white QB's? Ask Vick, if it were up to him, if he would prefer to stay in the pocket and throw the ball, or get drilled a few times a game running the ball. QB's take a beating when they run the ball, period - you can't always get out of bounds or slide in time to avoid the hits. Yes, QB's also get drilled in the pocket, but that is true of all QB's - running QB's take an extra beating. I played QB in HS and 2 years in college, so I think I know what I'm talking about here.

Culpepper

I put McNabb in the same category as Jake Delhomme. Great sometimes, but he has plenty of bad outings.

STFU, you obviously don't know what you are talking about. I too played college ball, and I don't know what exactly that has to do with this anyway!!! When you go and pay a ton of money for season tickets year after year only to watch your team get so close and have the QB choke in big games consistantly, then you tell me that he doesn't suck. I do think McNabb is a great athlete, I don't however think he is at all accurate in his passing game, and doesn't belong in the west coast offensive scheme that the Eagles use. I think you forget that the Eagles are known for a defense that has gotten them to the playoffs consistantly. The defense may not look that great on paper with stats, but they allowed the fewest TD's last year when a team was in the Red Zone. The Eagles had a decent offensive line (before injury). Westbrook has the highest yards per touch this year from scrimmage. Go to an Eagles game with McNabb standing in that pocket and consistantly you will see open receivers on the field and watch Donovan not even glance in that direction!!!! The man has the worst tunnell vision I have ever seen, not to mention when he does throw the ball he telegraphs exactly to whom he is trying to throw to.

Edit: I do however agree with you about Limbaugh and the NAACP guy.

so I guess the NAACP and its members don't have anything more pressing to focus on than something like this?

Hey all you idiots arguing that he's not real good, you list others that are better in your opinion (man some of you guys are gone) and he still is in the top 10. To be in the top ten you have to be pretty damn good.

Culpepper sucks and is way overrated. Without Moss, he didn't get anything done this year. McNabb is much better than him.
Delhomme is a joke.
Favre is a has been.
Plummer sucked, he is getting better this year but he is no where near McNabb as far as QB goes.
Brees got lucky because he has a great RB to take the pressure off the passing game and he has the best TE in the league. Take them away and he is not that good.

Or the others have to be bad...

Look at the QB situation at New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Miami, Washington, Baltimore, NY Jets, Buffalo, Houston, Tennessee, Arizona, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco and Cleveland.

Thats almost half the teams that have inexperienced, over the hill, or just plain bad quarterbacks.

What ever, I still thinksome opinion's given in this thread about who is better are ridiculous. Peyton, Brady, Palmer definately but I think he's on par of better than Dehlome, Brees and Plummer and definately better than Roethlisberger, Culpeppper (now there's your over rated black QB) abd Vick.
