There is a firmware fix out for those with the power button issues. Plenty of posts are at internettablettalk.com about this issue. You can use the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard to download it and install it for you, but I find it easier to download it first, and point the Nokia Wizard Update software to your downloaded file, and install it from there.

Before you can download, you will need to know your Nokia product ID from inside the battery cover. Make sure to do a backup of your settings and documents/media files before you install the update. As in any firmware update on these devices, you will also have to reinstall all of your applications that you added. I installed the update today, and for the first time since I have had it, my power button works as it should.
