N64 on Flat Panel LCD TV

For some reason I cannot get most of my N64 games to work on my Flat Panel LCD TV connected via composite connection. The only game that works is Rogue Squadron while Mario Kart, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark all flicker on and off.

I have tested these on other displays(my flat panel computer monitor) and they work fine. So anyone have any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is that there is a refresh rate issue, but honestly, I don't know how you would go about fixing it. Have you tried it on a different TV?

that is a very strange issue indeed...maybe post about this in "Video". one of the guys over there might have an answer for ya.

Either res or refresh. Easiest fix would probally be to try a S-Video cable, provided your lcd tv has s-video inputs (it damn well should). The image quality is MUCH better (believe me). Probally won't fix the problem but since the cables cost like $3 it's worth the investment.

If your tv has a VGA input you could try the vga box (would cost you $50). You could also get a cheap tv tuner card with video input and run it in and out of the pc, but this would probally cause a little lag.

Unfortunately, the N64 doesn't have a system settings page where you can adjust display types.

Rogue Squadren does have a high resolution setting if you have the memory expansion.

Have you tried toggling it to see what difference it makes? Perfect dark has it too, maybe one is off and not working and the other is on?

I think Rogue Squadren may even have a 60Hz setting?
