:eek:my system specs are as follows:
mobo: gigabyte 8IG1000MK (intel I865G, support 800MHz FSB)
cpu: Intel P4C 2.8GHz (with HT)
RAM: Samsung PC-3200 256MB *4 =1GB
HDD: Seagate SATA 120GB (doesn't matter wht model it is)
Graphics: Inno3d Geforce 6800 GT AGP8X
power: not sure about this but my friend said it should be a quite descent one

so far my system have been running without crashes or major problems. yesterday i have tuned the 'real' FSB in BIOS (the only option that allows changing of clock) from 200MHz to 215MHz, making my CPU 'speed' go from 2.8GHz to 3.0 GHz. whether this gives me a real boost or not is to be tested.

but the most important question is: have i oveclocked too much? i am not using any upgrades of CPU cooling, just the stock fan. would my system be ok to run if it is to be subject to 3d gaming (say 4 to 5 hours) and some more CPU intensive applications for long time?

plz give me some opinions. thx.

no... actually, thats a pretty much ok overclock. If your temps are bellow 60ºC, and your stability is not compromised, then its ok to keep it that way. Free performance rulez.

Modest OC: 1-5%
OK OC: 6-10%
GOOD OC: 11-15%
GREAT OC: 16-25%
W00t OC: 26%+

Running it 200mhz higher than stock is like trying to kill someone with tickles. Basically what I'm saying is that so long as your system is stable, it won't hurt it a bit.

Test stability by running Prime95 torture test overnight. If it passes with no errors its stable and you will have no problems.
