I ordered a zalman vf700-cu, and it comes with its own TIM. I will have to remove the old stuff before I put this on, what do I use? Rubbing alcohol and a paper towel?

Yes. The highest % isopropyl alchohol you can find, preferably 99%. I use a Q-tip.

Thanks. I just got back from the store, 91% was the highest I could find. I'll use a Q-tip.

91% is just dandy 😉

Okay, just one more thing I thought of. How am I supposed to get those big copper chunks off of the ram to replace them with the heatsinks that the zalman comes with? or should I just leave them on? they are connected by thermal tape.

I would leave them on personally. They can be removed, but its rather a PITA. If you want to know the best way to remove them PM me. 😉

Ok. I think i'll just leave them on then, after all they are solid copper, and the ones that come with the zalman are aluminum. If the zalman doesn't fit because they are in the way i'll pm you.
