I have a Radeon 7500 that I picked up for cheap, made by Sapphire ('powered by ATI'). Downloaded Rage3D Tweak to give overclocking a try. My core/mem is shown as something like 275/364 (? I don't remember offhand) at default.

Are there any guidelines to follow when o/c'ing, like a certain ratio of core to memory that is ideal, or is it just pretty much anything goes and push it as far as it will go? Thanks.

Basically just push it as far as it will go until artifacts just start to appear, then crank it down by like 5MHz. Better cooling is always a good idea as well.

Most importantly though, always, always, bump up the speeds in small increments. It takes longer, but that way you don't fry your card.

As well, just do a search online for others who have oc'd the same card and use that as a guildeline.

Best of luck. :)

Best would probably go to Rage3d and see what kind of results others have had, and see if you can emulate them.

hmm...whats happens if you take it to far...:0

was using coolbits and have a black screen...I can see a few icons, kindda. is there a way to turn coolbits off? I know the card isnt fried...booted up from a different drive and works fine.

There's a chance of frying your card, but it's a small one.. most likely it'll lock up before any serious damage is done.
