n00b needs help with choosing memory

I have the ASUS P5B-VM mobo along with the Core2Duo 6300 (1.8GHZ). The mobo supports DDR2-533/667/800MHZ. I am pretty much a n00b in hardware and after reading all the posts, I am highly confused if I should be getting 533, 667 or 800 memory. To me, 800 would be the fastest just going by numbers but reading in threads about multipliers, it seem slike even though i would have a 800 it would not perform faster than a 533!

Can someone please explain in layman terms which one would be the fastest?

Of course, I have no plans for overclocking since I am pretty sure I would riun the hardware I already have. Trying to build my own PC because Dell sucks.
