N00b needs help w/ auto...

I have a mirror (much like those generic ones at Napa/Checker/whatever and I f-ed up teh mechanism that connects the mirror to the mounting hardware (the rotating joint). Can anyone explain how this could be done?

*Breaking glass is not preferred
