Well, he resigned. Don't know if he made any "deals" in exchange for his resignation.

Supposedly no deals.
There were rumors that the once-heralded Democrat had negotiated a plea deal to avoid jail time in the case, but U.S. Attorney Michael J. Garcia squashed those rumors. "There is no agreement between this Office and Gov. Eliot Spitzer, relating to his resignation or any other matter," he said in a statement to CBS 2.

RESIGNED TO DISGRACE

Not sure why there would even be rumors - what interest does the US Attorney have in seeing the guy resign?

she hasn't been sleeping, trying to make it up to him for having to find other women...she owes him big time.

Yeah it's pretty awful if you think about it at all. Her entire life has been flushed down the toilet in EPIC FAIL fashion, and it's all because of him.

She won't be real upset when she gets over half of his wealth in the divorce.

She'll fall in love with some other rich sugar daddy, get 1/2 his wealth to accompany 1/2 spitzer's wealth, assuming they split when the dust eventually settles. Spitzer's ambitious career was destroyed, but hilary got beyond it, so will she.

you guys always want to think the worst.

would it be so far fetched to think she loved her husband and is crushed by this revelation? that she is standing by him because she hasn't stopped loving him?
time will tell.

Mrs. Spitzer was a high-billing lawyer at a very successful law firm. When her husband began his political career in the 90s, she 'opted out' and chose to stay at home with her daughters and start a charity foundation.

So no, I don't think she'll need a 'sugar daddy'. She sounds like she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

She doesn't deserve what happened to her, but she does deserve to be compensated for what this lying, cheating thug did to her. She should take solace in the fact she will get over half his wealth. It is the only real way she can punish him for being a snake.

i guess for me it's the fact that he acted like he was a moral crusader and was to bring about all this reform and yet this is what brought him down.

Exactly. She's totally humiliated in her social circles, whatever professional circles she runs with, and in the national media. Her husband gets nailed for being one of the biggest hypocrites in recent memory, unethical, and unfaithful. If it were a normal housewife, then maybe it isn't such a big deal - just take the money and run. It's a bit different for this type of person.

mosh - while what u said is a very real possibility, that she loved him immensely and now she's completely devastated...i can't help but wonder how wives of politicians can't even remotely suspect their spouses are getting some on the side. c'mon, politicians are notorious for affairs, same with professional athletes. to really believe that she had no inkling of the slight possibility would be a bit naive on her part. if anything, she could be pissed that the whole thing was exposed to the whole world.

They didn't go after him for the prostitution necessarily. He tipped the feds off because of suspicious bank transfers of the sort that he himself would prosecute. The banks were obliged to report the suspicious transfers to the feds and they began investigating Spitzer.

He also paid for a prostitute to travel across state lines which is illegal.

yeh, he won't get brought up on charges of soliciting prostitutes. if anything it will be money laundering, etc... but i'll bet he admits to being a sex addict, goes for therapy/treatment and then comes out a new man ready to get back into politics.

c'mon mosh, nobody *asks for* or expects their s/o to cheat on them, but it's looking more & more like her hubby did. in all likelihood she'll be awarded a rather sizable amount of his assets should they divorce. with the money she'll have, getting over him won't be too difficult. :p
