The optical out is the same jack as the headphones. You will need a Toslink-1/8" adapter to utilize it though.
 
right on, thank you.. how does that work though? I thought that stereo jack was only capable of making stereo, or is there something else inside this particular jack that lets digital out?

ps. is there somewhere I can buy one of these locally?
